The Public Interest Disclosure Act 2013 (PID Act) commenced on 15 January 2014.   The purpose of the Act is to promote integrity and accountability of the Commonwealth public sector by:

  • encouraging and facilitating the disclosure of information by public officials about suspected wrongdoing in the public sector;
  • ensuring that public officials who make public interest disclosures are supported and protected from adverse consequences; and
  • ensuring that disclosures by public officials are properly investigated and dealt with.

If you wish to report actual or suspected wrongdoing within the National Gallery of Australia, it is important that you use the proper channels, and that you maintain confidentiality of your allegation by not disclosing it to persons who are not authorised to deal with it. 

Failing to comply with the proper procedures may compromise both your protection from adverse consequences, and our ability to properly investigate your allegation.
